Who's been practicing? I feel a remarkable difference in attitude

I do both. I have been doing Wim Hof for a while. But you showed a few nuances to the technique that I didn't know before. Also, the inclusion of the Rickson-style breathing at the end of WH actually helps with the breath holds for me. I get deeper into my meditations afterwards and it seems to carry throughout the day. I will do the cold shower in the morning after breathing which helps with inflammation and increase dopamine levels too. Great way to start the day. I will use the WH technique with a couple of cycles before training in the evening to get my EPO up and my training sessions have improved significantly.
